While Europe’s elite might be in the midst of a fortnight interval due to March’s international break, we have plenty of noteworthy affairs from across England’s lower leagues.

With contests from both League One & Two respectively this weekend, there is plenty of Saturday action to tide us over.

For those of you looking to stick on a weekend acca, we have taken a glance at some of Saturday’s most attractive English betting tips.

Saturday, March 28th

BST 15:00 Blackpool vs Burton Albion

While some in Blackpool’s camp might have opened up the 2025/26 campaign with their sights set on mounting a genuine play-off charge, Ian Evatt’s side have a major battle on their hands in the race to keep hold of their League One status.

Opening Saturday’s six-pointer sat in the relegation zone, the Seasiders have rightfully come under serious scrutiny this season.

Despite securing a rollercoaster 3-2 victory against Port Vale earlier in the month, Blackpool have won just a pair of their previous 12 appearances – a run that stems back to January 24th.

Facing what is certainly a monumental challenge this weekend as they desperately try and find a route out of the drop zone, Evatt’s camp should take some solace from their recent success on home soil.

It should be highlighted, the former Bolton boss has seen his squad register seven points from their previous three League One battles at Bloomfield Road.

Making an immediate return to winning ways last week as they snatched an eye-catching 2-1 victory at home against Bradford, Burton will be dreaming of a repeat display here.

Travelling to Bloomfield Road this weekend holding a four-point buffer over slipping into the drop zone, Gary Bowyer’s side have won two of their previous three League One appearances.

Although the Brewers might have shown some extended inconsistencies this season, the former Blackpool boss has also seen his squad gain a recent reputation for their rugged approach.

However, despite suffering just a sole defeat on their travels over the past couple of months, Burton do hold a nightmare record at Bloomfield Road.

In fact, Saturday’s guests have lost their last three straight trips to Blackpool by an aggregate score of 7-1.

Betting Tip: Ashley Fletcher over 0.5 shots on target @ 3/5

15:00 Reading vs Wigan Athletic

Suffering major late heartbreak away at Stevenage last time out as they eventually fell to a 1-0 loss at the hands of Stevenage, Reading will know the importance of claiming an immediate response here.

However, despite still having their sights set on mounting a lucrative Championship return this season, Leam Richardson’s side have registered just a single win from any of their previous four appearances.

Smelling a potential opportunity this weekend, the Royals will be excited to make a return to home soil on Saturday afternoon.

Despite being last seen in Berkshire playing out a thrilling 2-2 stalemate against Plymouth, Reading are unbeaten in all of their last nine showdowns in front of their own supporters – a run that stems back to December 9th.

Likewise, winning their last three meetings against Saturday’s guests by an aggregate score of 6-2, the Royals will be desperate to get their play-off charge back on track.

While Wigan might have found themselves at the heart of a public crisis on either side of opening 2026, the Latics have come roaring back in a sensational fashion.

Finding a route out of the relegation zone, Gary Caldwell’s men certainly find the mood in their camp at a season-high.

Last seen putting in a rugged performance as they secured a 2-0 victory at home against Exeter, Saturday’s guests have registered seven points from their previous three League One appearances.

However, hit with a 2-1 loss when they welcomed Reading to the Brick Community Stadium back on February 10th, they do hold a nightmare record against Saturday’s opponents.

Along with losing their last three straight meetings by an aggregate score of 6-2, they have also lost four of their previous five battles.

Betting Tip: Both teams to score @ 10/11

15:00 Barrow vs Bromley

Embarking on what has become an iconic League Two fairytale this season, Bromley have received a string of plaudits from up and down the country.

Opening Saturday’s trip to Cumbria leading the chase at the top of the table, Andy Woodman’s high-flying squad also hold a five-point buffer over the chasing pack.

Securing a third consecutive 1-0 victory at home against Colchester last time out, the Ravens are riding a major wave of momentum and they will certainly be confident of making another statement here.

In fact, Bromley are remarkably unbeaten in all of their previous 21 straight outings (14 wins, seven draws). With that record-breaking purple patch stemming all the way back to November 29th, Saturday’s guests have also gained a reputation for their defensive steel.

Shipping just 36 League Two goals so far this season, Bromley hold the second-best defensive tally in the division and they have also conceded just a single strike over the past month.

While Barrow might have clung to their Football League status last season, the Bluebirds have an almighty battle on their hands this time around.

Opening this weekend’s fixtures sat rock-bottom of the League Two standings, Sam Foley’s men are almost universally regarded as a standout relegation candidate in 2026.

Last seen putting in what was a nightmare display as they slumped to a 5-0 drumming away at Grimsby, the Cumbria-based outfit have also collected just two points from any of their previous eight appearances.

Likewise, Barrow have claimed just a sole victory from their last 15 consecutive League Two outings – a rut that stems all the way back to December 29th.

Continuing to show a string of glaring defensive issues, Foley’s camp couldn’t have asked for a tougher challenge this weekend.

Betting Tip: Bromley win @ 12/11

Our Saturday English Accumulator:

Blackpool vs Burton Albion – Ashley Fletcher over 0.5 shots on target @ 3/5
