Marco Silva has urged Fulham to act in what will be an “important” January transfer window.

The Cottagers’ boss did not hide his frustration in the summer, when Fulham signed just four players, with three of those transfers arriving on deadline day.

Fulham are currently 15th in the Premier League, three points above the relegation zone, and are set to lose key players during the Africa Cup of Nations.

Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey and Samuel Chukwueze are likely to be called up for Nigeria, while striker Rodrigo Muniz has already been ruled out until February after undergoing surgery.

Silva insisted that everyone at the club is aligned on their targets ahead of the January window, which could prove to be pivotal for Fulham.

“It is not just clear from my side, but everyone in the club, what is necessary and what we are going to try and do in the next window,” Silva told Sky Sports.

“Let’s see what we can do in the market, because it will be important to act in the window.

“As I mentioned, we are preparing in the present. We have been speaking every single day. Myself, with the CEO of the club, it is clear.

“It is not just because of last summer. We have some injuries that create different scenarios, and AFCON, we are going to lose three players.”

Fulham face London rivals Tottenham in their next league fixture as they look to move away from the bottom three.

They have won two of their last three Premier League games against Spurs (D1), as many as they had in their previous 23 against them (D6 L15).

However, no side have earned fewer away points than Fulham in the league this season (one), while only Wolves (one) have earned fewer at home than Spurs (five).
