YouTube has announced that it will be making its long-tested “Multi-Language Audio” feature available to creators worldwide in the coming weeks. This will allow videos to be translated into different languages using artificial intelligence (AI).
This feature will enable creators to upload a new video and, a short time later, viewers in countries like Turkey, Korea, Brazil, and India will be able to watch a dubbed version of the video in their own language. The dubbing will be performed by AI.

According to YouTube, for channels that have been testing the multi-language dubbing feature, more than 25% of the video’s watch time, on average, comes from viewers in non-primary languages. This means the feature significantly increases the reach and watch time of content by appealing to different languages. For example, YouTube says that on the Jamie Oliver channel, using multi-language audio helped triple views. Popular creators like MrBeast and Mark Rober are now releasing their videos with dubbing in more than 30 languages, allowing them to expand their audience in new geographical regions.
YouTube also notes that during the pilot phase, some creators have been testing the use of multi-language thumbnails. With this feature, thumbnails will automatically change to match the viewer’s language preferences.
