President Donald Trump left the G7 Summit in Canada early as Israel and Iran continue to exchange missile strikes.
Trump answered questions from reporters aboard Air Force One as he landed in Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.
When asked about the possibility of U.S. military getting involved with wiping out Iran’s nuclear program, the president said, “I hope their program is going to be wiped out long before then. They’re not going to have a nuclear weapon.”
In a statement posted to Truth Social, the president said in part, “I have not reached out to Iran for ‘Peace Talks’ in any way, shape, or form. This is just more HIGHLY FABRICATED, FAKE NEWS!”
Trump also answered questions regarding trade deals discussed at the G7 Summit, as well as immigration enforcement in the U.S.
