Why the Fed may not cut rates in September

Data from the CME FedWatch tool shows there is a 100% chance that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates by September of this year.
Corient partner Amy Kong joins Market Domination to give insight into the probability of the Fed cutting rates by September and what markets (^DJI, ^IXIC, ^GSPC) are making of this forecast.
Kong believes that the notion of cuts in September isn’t set in stone, believing there are many factors in play that will sway markets and the Fed.
“You’ve got also a lot of other central banks already cutting rates around the globe. There’s pressure on the Fed. And so again, that momentum is shifting more to monetary policy,” Kong tells the Market Domination team. “I would also add too, as we’re heading closer and closer to November, there’s a third dynamic, which is the political season and Americans, investors, obviously this is a very sensitive issue for many. [There’s] likely to be more volatility from my perspective in terms of where the market’s direction will likely go over the next couple of months.”
