There have been rumors floating around the internet that Sydney Sweeney had broken up with her fiancé Jonathan Davino after she suddenly deleted a New Year’s Eve snapshot. It turns out, that story isn’t exactly right.
The Anyone But You star has been engaged to the entrepreneur since 2022, but lately, things have reportedly been a bit rocky in their relationship. In mid-March, TMZ reported that the 27-year-old actress was living apart from Davino at the Beverly Hills Hotel for at least a month. Now, Us Weekly has an update on their upcoming nuptials.

“They were supposed to get married this spring. The wedding is not happening, and they aren’t having further discussions about it,” a source alleged. “Sydney wanted to cancel everything and couldn’t handle the stress.” Sweeney’s demanding “work commitments” were apparently a major issue with her 41-year-old boyfriend.
“She doesn’t have a lot of downtime, and it causes tension in their relationship. Sydney is really focused on her career,” the insider added. “Jonathan wishes they were able to spend more quality time together.”
In addition to the upcoming 2026 third season of Euphoria, Sweeney also has The Housemaid with Amanda Seyfried, the Christy Martin biopic, and the look-back at Sammy Davis Jr. and Kim Novak’s romance in Scandalous! There isn’t much time in her schedule for a wedding right now.
The duo prefers to lead a quieter life, and Sweeney often gives vague answers when she’s asked about her relationship. “Everyone is always so curious about who I’m with and what’s that like, but I think it’s important to have something for me,” she explained to Glamour UK in December 2023. “I’m very open [otherwise]. I talk about so much and sometimes it gets me in trouble, but I do try to keep something for me.”
So, Sweeney and Davino have downgraded their relationship from fiancés to girlfriend and boyfriend once again.
