Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams are on their way back to Earth. The NASA astronauts who were stuck in space for over nine months departed the International Space Station early Tuesday morning Eastern time aboard the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft.Crew-9, which also includes Nick Hague and Aleksandr Gorbunov, is scheduled to splashdown off the Florida coast by early evening later Tuesday, weather permitting. The two expected to be gone just a week after launching on Boeing’s new Starliner crew capsule on June 5. In a truth social post Monday, President Donald Trump said he recently conferred with Janet Petro, the acting administrator of NASA, who is coordinating the return of Wilmore and Williams.
