In his first public speech since an assassination attempt, former President Trump took the stage at Day 4 of the Republican National Convention on Thursday. He formally accepted the GOP nomination for president for a third time.
Trump is seeking a second term in the White House after he was elected back in 2016 and then lost to Joe Biden in 2020.
The former president has been wearing a bandage on his right ear after he was struck with a bullet when a gunman, Thomas Crooks, opened fire during a weekend rally in Butler, Pennsylvania back on July 13th.
Speaking about the shooting, Trump said, “God was on my side.” He also honored Corey Comperatore, the man killed in the rally shooting.
