MakersPlace is thrilled to introduce its Artist Residency, an inaugural initiative presented by prominent art patron and Founder of White Walls, Blondie. The residency will run for six months, celebrating the work of digital and visual artists from the MakersPlace community.
During the program, selected artists will participate in two solo exhibitions on MakersPlace, showcasing their individual works. They will also take part in an immersive residency in New York City with ALLSHIPS to collaborate, develop their exhibition pieces, and learn from mentors. A key focus is helping artists build their personal narrative and create strategic marketing materials to better promote their art and connect with a wider audience.

Meet the Artists
Alyssa StevensAlyssa Stevens is a multidisciplinary abstract artist with works showcased in major cities such as New York, Miami, and Seoul. Her collectors include high-profile names like Gary Vaynerchuk and Cozomo de’ Medici. Stevens’ art draws inspiration from the interconnected energy of life, and her practice spans mediums, from oil pastel to digital illustration..
DouglxssDouglxss is a digital painter and truck driver whose work reflects his unique experiences from life on the road. His Night Shift series uses bold digital impasto techniques to convey the solitude and transition inherent in his profession. Influenced by artists like Edward Hopper and Rackstraw Downes, Douglxss creates meditative works that elevate mundane scenes to powerful expressions of human experience.
Dylan WadeDylan Wade is a digital Neo-Precisionist artist focused on nostalgia and memory. Since his teens, he has created hundreds of personal videos, blending emotional moments into evocative compilations. Now exploring digital illustration, Wade merges Precisionism’s industrial shapes with the warmth of American Regionalism, inviting viewers to connect with their own memories.
June KimJune Kim is a Los Angeles-based multimedia artist originally from South Korea, known for her blend of sculpture and installation art with technologies like AI and 3D. Her intricate works, made from red thread on plexiglass, incorporate social media data and explore themes of destiny and human connection, inspired by the ancient belief in the red thread of fate. Kim’s art has been showcased in prestigious exhibitions, including Art Basel Miami and the Los Angeles Art Show.
Ruben Dario Ramirez (AKA Dario)Ruben Dario Ramirez is a Dominican-American digital illustrator based in NYC. Known for his bold lines and vibrant colors, Dario’s work captures joyful, expressive subjects. He has collaborated with brands such as Converse and P&G, illustrated books for HarperCollins, and exhibited his pieces at venues like The African Museum and The Bronx Council of The Arts.
Program Details
The residency begins with an exciting week-long event in New York City in late October 2024 at the ALLSHIPS Creator House, where artists will connect, collaborate, and work closely with the ALLSHIPS and MakersPlace teams. This includes:
Day 1: A museum tour and lunch hosted by photographer and digital artist Dave Krugman at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Museum of Modern Art.
Day 2-3: Co-working days at the ALLSHIPS Creator House, with opportunities for interviews, content creation, and studio time.
Day 4: A culminating event with a gallery dinner, where the artists will showcase their works to a curated audience of collectors and creators.
Throughout the residency, the artists will engage in strategic mentorship sessions, process documentation, and begin creating a cohesive body of work that will be featured in their two MakersPlace exhibitions. The MakersPlace team will also support them in producing social media content and behind-the-scenes documentary material.
