Igor Tudor is set to take charge of Tottenham in Sunday’s Premier League game at Liverpool despite mounting pressure over his position, sources have told ESPN.

The Croatian has lost all four matches as interim boss following Thomas Frank’s sacking last month. He faced fresh criticism after substituting goalkeeper Antonín Kinsky just 17 minutes into Tuesday’s Champions League round-of-16, first leg defeat at Atlético Madrid.

However, Tudor will face the media in his usual pre-match news conference on Friday and sources have told ESPN that Tudor is expected to remain in the dugout for the weekend trip to Anfield as things stand.

But senior figures at Spurs are concerned about the situation with the club just one point above the relegation zone having not won a Premier League game since Dec. 28.

Tudor, 47, was appointed in part due to his experience of taking over clubs mid-season and providing an immediate upturn in results.

But Tottenham have struggled badly during his four matches — conceding 14 goals in the process — with some questioning his man-management approach after appearing to snub Kinsky as he left the field in Madrid.

Spurs were 3-0 down at the time with Kinsky making two awful errors — slipping over for the opening goal before gifting Julián Álvarez a tap-in after kicking the ball against his own standing leg — when Tudor made the change.

Team-mates Dominic Solanke, Conor Gallagher and João Palhinha all rushed to console Kinsky, who had been drafted in to replace Guglielmo Vicario.

“It was, before the game, the right choice to do in the moment like we are, with the pressure on Vicario, another competition,” Tudor said afterwards.

“Toni is a very good goalkeeper. It was for me the right decision. After this, of course, it’s easy to say that it was not the right decision. So I explained to Tony also, speaking after: he’s the right guy and a good goalkeeper.

“What happened is very rare. I’ve been coaching for 15 years, I’ve never done this. It was necessary to preserve the guy, preserve the team. Incredible situation, nothing to comment.”
