Taylor Frankie Paul isn’t shying away from the spotlight right now — even amid disturbing reports of a domestic assault investigation!
As we’ve been following, bombshell headlines surfaced this week claiming cameras dramatically stopped rolling on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives after an altercation between exes Taylor and Dakota Mortensen, who’ve always had a very toxic dynamic. According to the Draper City Police Department, there have been allegations made from “both directions,” a spokesperson told People.

Initial sources have spoken out alleging Taylor was physically abusive to her baby daddy, including in an argument over his dating history — and other reports claimed he’d contacted DCF over claims the reality star was physically abusive to their son, Ever! Taylor has denied those claims, and sources on her side have alleged Dakota was the violent one. Truly awful allegations. But authorities haven’t confirmed details of their investigation, so it’s unclear exactly what happened and whose side of the story is correct.
With all that said, you probably won’t be surprised then to find out the pair are not on speaking terms right now. While chatting with Entertainment Weekly at a press event on Tuesday, the Hulu personality explained:
“I actually took action about a few weeks ago. I’m just doing third-party everything — pick-up, drop-offs, communication — so no contact right now for me.”
The 31-year-old detailed:
“I think that’s the best case, honestly, because clearly it’s just not to a point of us getting along, so I wanted to take the best action I could.”
The #MomTok star noted that she intended to keep this under wraps:
“[My plan was to] not make it a big deal… I didn’t want to bring anything to the public eye, making it a bigger deal for the sake of my son, and just everything about to come out. But that wasn’t the plan for him.”
Opening up to People, she insisted this has been a “heavy” reality to face — especially as the accusations have come out just days before her season of The Bachelorette premieres:
“Honestly, just like, my heart hurts to see it, to go through it, especially at this time. Just the timing is hard, and it’s a big deal. I feel like every premiere that I’ve experienced, I’ve never enjoyed fully, so this is another one… it’s extremely hard, and it took everything to get me here today. It’s just heavy. It’s a heavy time, and it’s unfortunate. I’m struggling for sure, but also at the same time I feel like if I don’t show up, then I’m just giving these opportunities away and not enjoying what we’ve worked on and something super exciting that’s coming. I just feel like it was the right thing to do… show up even though it’s hard.”
She opened up about her decision to join the dating show, saying that her “only condition” was if she’d be “able to see [her] children” during filming. Despite still being on-and-off with Dakota in the days before she flew for filming — as highlighted in the new season of Mormon Wives — the TikTok star went ahead with the show to get “out of my toxicity of a life in Utah and bubble.” She elaborated:
“It was like the best thing I could have done.”
And it was a good experience meeting men with “different” perspectives than those in her home community:
“There was a lot of reassurance in who I am, you know, from all these men being just kind and gentle and gentlemen. It kind of brought out my true side of who I am and honestly belief in me, value, worth… they made me feel reassured in that and reminded me of that. It was a journey of also that too.”
Too bad it’s all gone to s**t now!
Reactions, Perezcious readers?? Can U believe she’s still promoting The Bachelorette amid all this??
