The Duffer Brothers are weighing in on the recent Stranger Things controversy.
If David Harbour didn’t already look bad enough for cheating on his wife Lily Allen, a report surfaced last weekend accusing him of bullying Millie Bobby Brown on the Stranger Things set. A source told DailyMail.com:
“Mille Bobby Brown filed a harassment and bullying claim before they started shooting the last season. There were pages and pages of accusations. The investigation went on for months.”

The claims have yet to be substantiated, but fans immediately began digging up old interviews trying to prove the claims. And while some tension did seem to exist between the two, newer reports suggested their alleged feud wasn’t everything it’s been cracked up to be. And the pair shut down the rumors by appearing arm-in-arm on the LA red carpet premiere of Stranger Things season 5 on Thursday! See (below):

So, what do the show’s creators have to say about the bullying claims? Surely they’d know everything about the situation, right? Well, they opted to play things close to the vest.
At the very same premiere, The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Ross and Matt Duffer and asked them to speak on the claims. Ross told the outlet:
“Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal on-set matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them.”
That definitely wasn’t a denial… Is that his way of confirming the drama? Because if there’s one thing that’s for sure about families, it’s that they definitely fight! But always make up at the end of the day! Ross added:
“So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy.”
The outlet also asked executive producer and director Shawn Levy about how production handles bullying complaints and “makes sure everyone feels safe and respected.” And he had the following to say:
“At the end of the day, that’s the job. You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment. And we’re proud of the fact that we did so.”
Seemingly addressing some of the rumors out there, he continued:
“I’ve read a bunch of stories and they range from wildly inaccurate to … there’s so much noise around it. But the truth is that we view this crew and this cast as family, and so we treat each other with respect, and that’s always been bedrock.”

It seems that above all, the Stranger Things crew does have a through line of respect for one another… even if sometimes tension can get the best of them.
