EXCLUSIVE: Police Academy vet Steve Guttenberg and Vacation vet Christie Brinkley have joined the cast of the upcoming Michael W. Gray comedy, American Summer.
Filming has officially commenced in Northern New Jersey and will continue through mid-October. Gray, known for films like Fightville and Jamie Marks is Dead, is directing the movie based on a script he co-wrote with Jennifer B. White.
The story follows Mikey (played by Guttenberg), now in his 60s, as he reminisces about a memorable summer from his childhood where he met the love of his life, made the travel baseball team, started his first job, and navigated the challenges of growing up while coping with his father’s absence on a military mission.
Logan Gray stars as ‘Young Mikey’ and Mia Talerico as ‘Young Kelly. The film also features Dan Lauria, Cullen Moss, Erinn Ruth, Michael Cuomo, Ellen Toland, Stephen Krahel, Lee Mazzilli, Luis Sojo, as well as newcomers Callie Reese, Cash Chisum, Jaba Keh, Carter J Thomas, Max Malas, Maximus Virgili, Chance Stout, and the adorable Noodle, the family puppy who becomes a hero.
