The artwork, titled “Shibtoshi,” is entirely hand-drawn to ensure it is “organic and soulful.” The painting received immense love from the community, as did Shibtoshi himself, who has since commissioned an exact Japanese-style hand-painted replica from the artist.

Filled “with a profound sense of achievement and pride,” the painter ended his message on X with, “Perhaps my lifelong fascination with Japanese art and culture was all leading to this moment, to this project, to this community.”

This overwhelming community support for Shibtoshi is no surprise, given that he is a firm believer in its value. The SquidGrow creator has described the growing project community as  his “proudest achievement.”
