A judge denied Sean “Diddy” Combs’ request for bail after the rapper pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking.
While Combs awaits trial, he will be forced to stay at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. The facility has been the temporary home to several celebrity inmates in recent years, including R. Kelly, Fetty Wap, Michael Cohen, Allison Mack and Ghislaine Maxwell.
The judge decided there were “no conditions” she could impose on Diddy, pointing out that sex trafficking is a crime that happens behind closed doors. The judge added that Combs would be hard to monitor and could be considered a flight risk, despite surrendering his passport.
Diddy’s legal team plans to appeal the bail decision.
