Multiple people were injured during a shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder in Barrow County, Georgia, Sheriff Jud Smith said Wednesday afternoon, adding a suspected gunman is in custody.
Sheriff Smith said multiple law enforcement agencies and emergency responders responded to reports of an active shooter at the school around 9:30 a.m.
During a 1PM ET news conference, the sheriff said multiple injuries were reported, but did not provide additional details.
