According to information from South Korean outlet SEDaily, Samsung’s glasses will not include a display, similar to Meta’s AI-powered smart glasses.

Galaxy smart glasses are coming

Samsung’s glasses will feature a camera, microphone, and speakers. Users will be able to take photos and videos, get answers to their questions via an AI-powered assistant, and pair the device with Galaxy phones. Samsung’s goal is to create a product ecosystem independent of its partnership with Google to seize leadership in the smart glasses segment.

As is known, with the development of AI technologies, smart glasses have become much more functional. AR (augmented reality) displays are expected to be included in these devices in the future. Therefore, the future looks quite promising for these devices. While Samsung’s first-generation glasses will not have a screen, Meta’s new-generation smart glasses, Orion, stand out with their AR display. Although the details have not yet been clarified, Samsung’s glasses may work with their own software without being tied to Android. This suggests that the company is willing to compete with Google in the future. Just as Galaxy phones and smartwatches compete with Google’s Pixel devices, a similar strategy may be pursued in the smart glasses segment.

Currently, the leader in the smart glasses segment is Meta, which collaborates with Oakley and Ray-Ban, and their devices start at $299. Apple’s first smart glasses are also expected to be released in 2026 and are predicted to offer a display-less design like Samsung.
