Samsung has confirmed that its home robot, Ballie, will not be released this year. Having missed the Summer 2025 target, the company explained that the development process is continuing to mature the technology.
The schedule for Samsung’s long-awaited smart home robot Ballie has been delayed once again. The company confirmed that it could not complete the robot’s development before the end of the year and announced an official delay. Consequently, the initial launch window announced for the summer months has been missed, and Samsung has left the timeline uncertain by not sharing a new date.
Ballie Delayed Again

At the beginning of the year, Samsung announced that Ballie would go on sale in the Summer of 2025. However, the lack of updates following IFA 2025 signaled that a delay was inevitable. In a statement provided to TechRadar, the company emphasized that the technology is still being developed to take Ballie’s user experience to the next level. This statement suggests that the robot has not yet reached the planned maturity in terms of both hardware and software.
Ballie stands out as a personal home robot project, the prototype of which Samsung first introduced six years ago. At that time, there was no commercial launch plan for the product. Two years ago, an updated version featuring a completely redesigned look, an improved camera system, and a built-in projector was introduced.
According to Samsung’s presentation, Ballie can follow the user around the house, respond to voice commands, control smart home devices, provide calendar and task reminders, play multimedia content, and perform internet searches. In a recent statement made this year, it was also announced that the robot’s artificial intelligence features would be powered by Google’s Gemini model.
