Paramount / Republic Pictures has debuted an official trailer for an action thriller movie called One Mile – it’s actually one movie split into two movies. An ex-special forces operative goes berserk off-the-grid when his daughter is kidnapped by a violent community. Alone and outnumbered, he’s forced to use every skill he has to track them down, take them apart, then bring his daughter home. This is dropping directly onto VOD to watch later this month – not even releasing them in theaters. The two movies are called One Mile: Chapter One and One Mile: Chapter Two, both coming out at the same time instead of waiting between them. ” Two Chapters. Zero Waiting.” Starring Ryan Phillippe as Danny who’s trying to save his daughter, as played by Amélie Hoeferle. The cast includes C. Thomas Howell, Richard Harmon, Sara Canning, and Sage Linder. These look so cheesy and boring – yet another “save the girl from bad guys” plot that has nothing new to add or anything interesting to show us other than more of the same. Chapter One – Phillippe stars as a former special forces operative trying to reconnect with his teenage daughter during a college road trip. When an unexpected detour puts them in the sights of a secretive, off-the-grid community, his daughter is taken and the trip erupts into a high-octane fight for survival. Alone and outnumbered, he’s forced to use every skill he has to track them down, take them apart, and bring his daughter home. Chapter Two – A former special forces operative (Ryan Phillippe) is forced back onto a remote island when the violent, secretive community he fought once before abducts his daughter in an act of revenge. Launched into a relentless hunt, he faces an enemy that’s ready & anticipating his every move.
One Mile (both movies) is directed by American filmmaker Adam Davidson, a TV director of the TV movie Recon and many series including eps of “Ordinary Joe”, “La Brea”, and “Bosch: Legacy” most recently. The screenplay for Part One is written by TJ Brady & Rasheed Newson and John Hlavin, from a story by John Hlavin and Josh Senter; the screenplay for Part Two is written by TJ Brady & Rasheed Newson, from a story by John Hlavin and TJ Brady & Rasheed Newson. It’s produced by Aaron Kaplan, Michael Lohmann, Jaiden Kaplan, Ryan Phillippe, Chad Oakes, Michael Frislev, & Adam Davidson.
