Ronin, the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible gaming blockchain, is set to launch the first season of its Grand Arena (GA) game. GA Season 1 will unlock a new level of competition and engagement in the Ronin ecosystem.

Created by Moku, a Web3 game studio that provides infrastructure to unite communities on the Ronin Network, Grand Arena offers an environment for players to collect, train, and manage NFT-based AI athletes. These athletes are called Mokis, and they compete nonstop in daily automated contests to partake in a $1 million prize pool. This prize pool is for the inaugural season only.
The game combines collectible card mechanics, prediction markets, and reward loops to deliver a complex and engaging experience. Some core features include Moki Genesis NFTs and a token-gated ecosystem where players use Moki NFT cards and gems to build their teams. It is worth noting that in January, Moku unveiled a funding program to help players kickstart their guilds during the GA Season 1. Guilds are player groups that share gaming experiences on the Ronin blockchain, offering token-gated access and rewarding player participation.
Through the Moku Guild Boost Program, player groups will access $50,000 in grants. The funding can be used to acquire cards, booster boxes, and gems to enter contests in the game, allowing guilds to compete for the prize pool.
Ronin Network says groups must have at least 10 members before applying for the grants. Applications will remain open until two weeks after Season 1 launches or till the funds are allocated. This means that the Moku Guild Boost Program is likely to keep running until the first week of March.
As the game begins, Moku aims to introduce new social features to encourage collaborative play, strategy sharing, and player participation in exclusive, high-stakes events.
