Meghan King, once an outspoken force on the Real Housewives of Orange County, is now facing one of the most painful chapters a parent can endure.

According to sources who spoke to Us Weekly for the bombshell, the custody change came at some point in the last couple of months. It was triggered when a school employee reportedly contacted Child Protective Services with concerns about King. It is not yet known what those concerns were about, though.
Regardless, the call was reportedly taken seriously enough to trigger a CPS investigation, per that outlet. And the result was a temporary but dramatic restructuring of the family’s custody arrangement. In it, the former pro baseball outfielder was granted sole physical custody of the former couple’s kids Aspen, 8, and twins Hart and Hayes, 7. Meanwhile, King is currently permitted only to have supervised visitation.

Those close to the situation say the decision is not yet final. A hearing scheduled for some time in early December will determine whether this temporary arrangement becomes permanent or not.
Still, even a temporary loss of physical custody is enormous. And nobody involved is talking about it, either! There’s been total silence thus far from both King’s and Edmonds’ reps when queried for more info by multiple outlets. That seriously speaks volumes about how sensitive — and legally fraught — this situation has become.

As Perezcious readers will recall, King and Edmonds married in 2014 and then endured a very rocky road after splitting in 2019. They had originally agreed to joint custody when they finalized a divorce settlement in May 2021.
And for a few years afterwards, despite undeniable tensions, the pair appeared to navigate the precarious terrain of co-parenting. That agreement now hangs in the balance as authorities examine the findings of the CPS investigation and weigh what comes next for the children.
Whatever the court ultimately decides, three young children are at the center of it. So, we just hope that the December hearing brings clarity, stability, and healing for everyone involved.
