CGV (Cryptogram Venture) is a crypto investment firm headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. Partner YZ provided an overview of CGV’s overall development and investment activities: Since 2017, the fund and its predecessor funds have participated in investments in over 200 projects, including the investment and incubation of the licensed yen-pegged stablecoin JPYW. Additionally, CGV FoF is a limited partner in several globally renowned crypto funds. CGV is also actively focused on the development of Japanese Web3 startups and has successfully organized two editions of the Japan Web3 Hackathon (TWSH) since 2022, receiving joint support from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, Keio University, NTT Docomo, and other institutions and experts. Recently, CGV invested in and incubated the ML KOL Club and RONA.
ML KOL Club is a service organization that brings together outstanding opinion leaders from around the world and boasts a large community. The team members hail from regions such as Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Vietnam, with extensive project experience and a wide range of KOL resources in the areas of crypto asset investment and research, community operation, brand, and market promotion.
RONA is a high-performance Web3 gaming ecosystem dedicated to combining advanced hardware with blockchain technology to provide players with an immersive gaming experience and opportunities to earn income through gameplay. By integrating gaming, cryptocurrency mining, and AI computing power sharing, RONA creates a new ecosystem where players can both enjoy the game and achieve economic growth.
Currently, CGV has branches in Hong Kong, Singapore, New York, and Toronto, and is also a founding member of the Tokyo-based Bitcoin Tokyo Club.
XStar is an Omnichain identity protocol designed for Proof of Humanity. Founder and CEO Ervin introduced how XStar’s decentralized identity system (DID) combines with Proof of Humanity to address Sybil attacks. By linking Web2 social media accounts, the system provides anti-fake account and anti-fraud functions within Web2 social networks. XStar’s comprehensive scoring system, known as the Humanity Score (XHS), integrates biometric verification, Web2 social graph analysis, and offline event participation to help identify the personality traits of users and on-chain addresses while protecting user privacy. Additionally, XStar offers an independent Proof of Humanity service platform for Web3 projects, enabling these projects to verify the personality traits of participating addresses before their TGE (Token Generation Event) and providing a discounted pricing plan for the first projects using the service.
Starbase is a Web 3.0 accelerator focused on GameFi and AI. Founder Vivian introduced Starbase’s core operating model, which includes project investment, incubation, and acceleration. Starbase has invested in over 100 projects across various popular sectors and provides funding support for startups. Currently, the second phase of Starbase’s ‘EverGrow Grant,’ valued at over $2 million, is open for applications. Selected projects can receive comprehensive funding ranging from $10,000 to $30,000, helping them reduce development costs.
In terms of incubation and acceleration, Starbase offers four main types of support: consulting management, which includes economic model design and fundraising strategies; user growth, which enhances project exposure in markets such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia through KOL and community networks; marketing, which involves developing strategies to increase market awareness and engagement; and developer ecosystem support, working with global developer communities to provide essential development assistance.
Additionally, Vivian shared Starbase’s Asia Tour plans: During major industry conferences, Starbase will co-host side events with leading industry institutions and local partners to deeply explore local markets, connect resources, and identify growth opportunities. Starbase has successfully hosted two Asia Tour events so far, with several more events planned in the near future.
Keynote | Aylab: Web3 User Acquisition At Scale
Aylab is developing the Aylab Traffic Loop (ATL), an innovative Web3 advertising engine designed to help Web3 projects attract a large number of mobile users from both Web2 and Web3. CEO Robert Zhang stated that the Aylab team believes that the complexity of most Web3 projects and the need to pay gas fees significantly hinder the entry of Web2 users and Web3 newcomers. ATL aims to simplify these processes, enabling users to engage with and use applications more intuitively. Currently, ATL has completed over 100 million on-chain transactions in partnership with SUI, BASE, Mantle, opBNB, and Wormhole, and plans to collaborate with more Web3 projects in the future to attract a larger user base.
