Sampson says it was a “tough transition” to go from playing basketball to entering the business world. “Take what you learned in sports to life and implement that in some way — because there’s going to be an adjustment, but you have the knowledge base power.”
Jenkins echoes a similar sentiment, noting what helped him through the “very challenging” transition was to “acknowledge that I needed help [and] reaching out to the support system in my network and connecting … with a mentor.”
