Unionized dockworkers on the East and Gulf Coast ports went on strike Tuesday. From Maine to Texas, dockworkers across 36 ports are now on strike. Negotiations between the ILA and USMX have been deadlocked over the union’s demands related to wage hikes as well as compensation. The contract between International Longshoremen’s Association and 45,000 members expired at midnight.
