The company claims this model offers significantly better performance not only in core functions like science, education, coding, business, and writing assistance, but also in more specialized tasks. Its only drawback? It’s a bit slow.

OpenAI Officially Announces o3-pro

According to OpenAI, o3-pro can perform web searches, analyze files, review images, use Python, and even generate personalized responses. However, this does not mean that o3-pro is a perfect model. The company notes that it often responds more slowly than o1-pro and does not have image generation capabilities.

The model has achieved impressive scores in several benchmark tests. For instance, in the AIME 2024 test, which evaluates AI models’ ability to solve math problems, o3-pro outperformed Gemini 2.5 Pro. Additionally, in the GPQA Diamond test—a PhD-level science knowledge assessment—the model managed to surpass Anthropic’s Claude 4 Opus.
