“He finally had his own restaurant.” Vertical has revealed an offiical trailer for the documentary film titled simply Nobu, about the famous chef and about the famous restaurants around the world known as “Nobu”. Nobu examines culinary legend Nobuyuki Matsuhisa’s empire, offering an intimate portrait of a man who has redefined global gastronomy alongside his business partners Robert De Niro and Meir Teper. The film premiered at the 2024 Telluride Film Festival last year, and it also just played at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival this summer (before of the De Niro connection of course) before its release later in July. Beyond his artistic mastery, the film also explores the evolution of the Nobu restaurant group into a global symbol of luxury and hospitality. This exquisite biopic doc film Nobu highlights the far-reaching impact of Matsuhisa’s culinary innovation, featuring appearances from his founding partner Robert De Niro, supermodel Cindy Crawford, and the chefs Wolfgang Puck & Jean-Georges Vongerichten.
