According to a CNN report dated March 26, the event happened on the second day of the “Fostering the Future Together” initiative, a two-day summit focused on artificial intelligence education and child safety.

The report further detailed that the humanoid robot, developed by Figure, accompanied the First Lady into the room before delivering a speech of its own. In its speech, it expressed gratitude and acknowledged its prime speaking slot at Trump’s summit on AI education and child safety as an “honor.”

“Thank you, first lady, Melania Trump, for inviting me to the White House,” the robot said in a female voice (as per CNN report)

Continuing its remarks, the robot underscored its role in what it described as a “historic movement” centered on empowering “children” through “technology and education.”

The report also detailed how the unexpected presence of a humanoid speaker left the audience, which included international first spouses and technology industry representatives, visibly stunned, with many pausing in silence and capturing the moment on their phones.

Following the robot’s address, Trump acknowledged the unprecedented nature of the appearance.
