CM Punk still has friends in AEW despite his abrupt departure from the company in 2023. One of those stars suddenly dropped a reference about The Best in the World in the spirit of the Halloween season.

The star in question is Danhausen, who has been absent from their television since the AEW Worlds Collide 2023 event. It is no secret that he and CM Punk are close companions. The duo forged a friendship when Punk signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2021 and often see and mention each other on their respective social media platforms.

On the occasion of Halloween, Danhausen took to his X to reference The Second City Saint and fellow AEW star, Brody King. Mr Nice Mr Very Evil shared photos of both superstars donning his signature face paint to channelize his character in their respective costumes.

WWE Hall of Famer believes CM Punk does not need a World title win at this point

CM Punk is set to compete against Jey Uso for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship at the upcoming November edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. However, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray believes he doesn’t need to win the title, but the Stamford-based promotion will eventually give him one more run as champion.

“Pulling the trigger on Punk on a Saturday Night’s Main Event right now to become champion, that doesn’t feel right at all,” Ray began. “Punk does not need a championship, and when the eventual day comes, night comes, that Punk wins the championship, it has to be the payoff of all payoffs, just like him finally getting to be in a main event of WrestleMania.”

Punk won and held the World title for mere minutes at WWE SummerSlam 2025 before Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to take it from him. So it remains to be seen if he can get the job done once again.
