At least 28 people were injured in an intentional car-ramming attack on a crowd of demonstrators in Munich, Germany on Thursday morning, according to authorities, who described the suspect as a “Afghan asylum seeker.”
The incident took place hours before US Vice President JD Vance arrived with his family in Munich for a three-day security conference, which will be attended by leaders and representatives from across the world. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is also expected to be in attendance.
Investigators have said they do not believe there is any connection between the intentional attack and the visit from Vance, but they are still working to determine a motive.
