“I was only ever hoping to ask the right questions…” Prime Video has revealed the first official trailer for a mini-series called A Very Royal Scandal, premiering for streaming later in September. This is another new cinematic take on the 2019 “interview that sent shockwaves around the globe.” It’s the same interview also featured in the Netflix film Scoop with Gillian Anderson earlier this year, and now we have a 3-episode series about it as well this fall. Follow Emily Maitlis journey as a News night journalist and Prince Andrew’s disastrous interview with her. The story will examine the actions of Maitlis and Prince Andrew in the lead-up to the interview, the groundbreaking event itself, the questions left in its wake that changed lives forever. Michael Sheen and Ruth Wilson star as Emily and Andrew, with Joanna Scanlan as Amanda Thirsk, Alex Jennings as Sir Edward Young, Éanna Hardwicke as Stewart Maclean, and Claire Rushbrook as Sarah Ferguson. This looks like a more intense & thrilling version retelling this same story from a new angle.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Julian Jarrold’s A Very Royal Scandal, direct from YouTube:
