The Meebits NFT project will ship physical toys to a select group of users by the first week of next month. The team behind the project made the announcement in a tweet on November 24.

According to the tweet, only Meebits users holding the AI Toy NFT will be eligible to receive the shipment in December. Users in the United States will ship directly from the toy manufacturing platform Curio, while international buyers will hear the next steps from MeebCo.

Last week, Meebits announced that Viz, a playable AI character, would be coming to Apechain Hub, the blockchain layer powering the ApeCoin ecosystem. Viz, inspired by the project’s AI plush toy, would become the newest Meebits character in the Otherside Metaverse.

Meebits asked users to mint an AI Toy Early Access Pass, which would enable them to collect both the Viz ApeChain NFT and a physical toy. The Viz ApeChain NFT is the only way to become eligible for the Viz playable avatar to be used in the Otherside. The project’s team took a snapshot of qualified users on Sunday, November 23, at 10 am EST, with the intention to airdrop the avatar to all holders.

On November 25, Viz was airdropped to eligible wallets via ApeChain. The team revealed that the playable character will be made available in the Otherside after the next avatar upload cycle.

Users who did not mint the NFT but would like to buy the physical toys can make their purchases after Curio adds the products to inventory. The toy manufacturer added the inventory on November 26, so interested buyers can take the next steps forward. Unfortunately, the purchases will not include any MeebCo digital rewards, such as the Viz playable avatar.

It is worth reiterating that users can only get the Viz avatar through the airdrop scheduled for people who minted the AI Toy Early Access Pass. They can also buy the avatar NFT in secondary markets after the airdrop. 

The latest development has added Meebits to the list of NFT projects that have released physical toys. One of the most prominent NFT projects to have towed this path is Pudgy Penguins. Two years ago, Pudgy penguins released a toy line featuring plushies and figurines inspired by NFTs from the collection.
