NYC Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, Rev. Al Sharpton, New York Attorney General Letitia James, and Spike Lee joined volunteers in Harlem to serve Thanksgiving dinner. They delivered remarks ahead of the event.
This comes after President Donald Trump and New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani recently met in the Oval Office, the first face-to-face between the two since Mamdani’s earlier election victory.
Trump had previously called Mamdani names such as “communist lunatic” and suggested that the mayor-elect may be in the country illegally. Mamdani, on the other hand, made standing up to President Trump a cornerstone of his campaign. He notably dared Trump to “turn the volume up” during his victory speech.
