We are getting more information tonight after Portland Trailblazers head coach Chauncey Billups and Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier were among more than 30 people arrested in an illegal gambling investigation. According to one source, defendants include former professional athletes accused of using advanced technology to steal millions of dollars from victims in underground poker games in the New York area that were backed by Mafia families. Authorities allege the poker scheme lured unwitting players into games with the chance to compete against former professional basketball players. The games were rigged using sophisticated cheating technology, such as altered card-shuffling machines, hidden cameras in poker chip trays, special sunglasses and even X-ray equipment built into the table to read cards.
