ISRAEL WAR LATEST: Hamas is likely to name a new leader following Yahya Sinwar’s death. A new report indicates the leader could be Sinwar’s brother Mohammad. Israeli officials believe Mohammad could be next in line for the being the next leader of Hamas. Mohammaed Sinwar is 13 years younger than his brother Yahya. He was born in the Khan Younis refugee camp. According to Fox News, Israeli officials describe Mohammed Sinwar as being even ‘more ruthless than his older brother.’
Hamas has to consider its main backer -Iran- but also the interests of the Gulf Arab state of Qatar. Other top contenders include Khaled Meshaal and Mohammad Darwish.
