Hamas has given its initial approval of a U.S. backed proposal for a phased cease-fire deal in Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to hold consultations on Sunday as Israel aims to end the war and free Israeli hostages. Hamas moved forward with dropping a key demand that Israel first commit to a permanent cease-fire deal before it would sign an agreement.
