ISRAEL LATEST TODAY: Israeli strikes killed 22 people and hurt more than 100 in central Beirut on Thursday. A Hezbollah official evaded an Israeli assassination attempt, according to security sources. More than 100 people were hurt in today’s central Beirut attack.
“I went to see where the strike was and I saw that in my house, the glass and windows had shattered. We came and saw this scene. It was a horrifying scene, it was something unbelievable,” said Ala’a Baydoun, a resident whose house was damaged.
Israel Defense Forces expanded its military operations in Lebanon. IDF said in a statement on X, “Hezbollah operates from within and near civilian areas in southern Lebanon, including areas near @UNIFIL_ posts.
The IDF is operating in southern Lebanon and maintains routine communication with UNIFIL.
IDF troops operated in the area of Naqoura, next to a UNIFIL base. Accordingly, the IDF instructed the UN forces in the area to remain in protected spaces, after which the forces opened fire in the area.”
