Midjourney recently announced an update to its image editor, enhancing its web interface’s robustness and attractiveness. The new web interface for the editor surpasses the old-school Discord editor, hinting at Midjourney’s broader move towards becoming the go-to platform for image generation, akin to Leonardo or Ideogram.
This update also positions Midjourney favorably against competitors like OpenAI’s Dall-E editor, which lacks outpainting capabilities, and Ideogram, which doesn’t support outpainting or zooming. Although Leonardo remains the most powerful generative AI editor, it falls short in some functionalities provided by this Midjourney upgrade.
Recently, Midjourney introduced user customization, enabling users to tailor outputs by training the AI to replicate specific styles. Users simply select preferred images in head-to-head comparisons, allowing Midjourney to identify common elements and generate styles that align better with user preferences.
