The rivalry between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald J. Trump has sparked discussions around rally crowd sizes. Trump has been known to exaggerate his numbers, while Harris’s campaign has fired back with its own observations. We analyzed six rallies across six states to compare the actual crowd sizes of both candidates.
Despite Trump’s claims, both candidates draw large audiences. Harris drew 12,800 people in Milwaukee, while Trump attracted 11,500 in Glendale, Arizona. The remaining rallies were also well-attended, with venues reaching capacities between 6,800 and 19,300.

The analysis also delved into the dynamics of rally attendance, shedding light on how early exits at Trump’s events compared to Harris’s. Trump’s longer speeches may have contributed to more departures, with attendees seen leaving while he was still speaking. Despite the limited impact of crowd size on election outcomes, the public discourse on this metric remains significant.
Our analysis involved taking photographs and videos at various intervals during the rallies to estimate crowd sizes accurately. Despite the discrepancies in claims, the numbers painted a clearer picture of audience engagement and enthusiasm for both candidates.

While crowd sizes may not sway election results, they play a crucial role in energizing supporters and creating a sense of community among attendees.
