Mick Herron’s Slough House book series is the inspiration behind the show, which follows the exploits of Slough House, a dumping ground for MI5 rejects. Oldman’s Lamb is their disheveled, uncouth leader.

This is a spy thriller that, if I were to describe it to my mother, is the complete opposite of James Bond. That’s what makes it so good.

Jack Lowden, Kristin Scott Thomas, Saskia Reeves, Christopher Chung, Hugo Weaving, Rosalind Eleazar and Joanna Scanlan star alongside Oldman in the show. Season 6 is already in the can and set for a 2026 release; the Apple TV Plus program shows no sign of slowing down.
