Mia Zelu, an “influencer” who became a social media phenomenon with her posts from Wimbledon, quickly gained thousands of followers and attracted significant attention. However, it was revealed that Zelu is not a real person but an AI-powered digital character. Zelu, who even received marriage proposals on Instagram, highlighted the impact of artificial intelligence in digital spaces. AI technology is no longer limited to fields like law or academia; it’s now starting to challenge social media influencers.

Mia Zelu, the “influencer” who caught attention at Wimbledon, is not actually human. Zelu is a digital character created with artificial intelligence. Introducing herself as a “digital storyteller” on Instagram, Zelu garnered attention with her Wimbledon-themed posts.
Her post with the caption, “Still can’t get over the impact of the event…” received thousands of likes.

However, Zelu impressed users not only with her visuals but also with the emotional texts she wrote for her posts. In one post, she used expressions like, “How exhausting it is to pretend everything is okay, right? Replying to messages with a smile but feeling drained inside…” Zelu’s profile clearly states that she is AI-powered.

Despite this, many users commented on her posts with remarks like, “You look amazing,” or “What are your skincare secrets?”, mistaking her for a real person. Some even went as far as to propose marriage.
Mia Zelu also has another digital character, named Ana, who is similarly created with AI and introduced as her “sister.” Ana has over 266,000 followers and shares aesthetically pleasing visuals and personal texts in a similar fashion.
