London, Feb. 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ – Etherlink, a Layer 2 blockchain powered by Tezos technology, has officially moved from public beta to full production readiness. The announcement was made at ETHDenver, where Etherlink unveiled its $3 million rewards program, “Apple Farm,” to incentivize developers and users to explore decentralized finance (DeFi) applications.
Apple Farm will feature a points-based rewards system where participants collect “Apples” from various DeFi activities. The program will launch in March 2025 and has already gained traction with founding partners Superlend, Hanji, and IguanaDEX. With over $2 million in trading volume already processed on Etherlink’s infrastructure, Apple Farm will use this established foundation to attract users and builders to the platform.
The Apple Farm program offers several rewards for users, including exclusive NFTs, special Discord roles, and access to an entire dashboard where users can track their points and position on the leaderboard. This effort aligns with Etherlink’s goal of creating a strong network centered around decentralized applications (dApps).
In addition to the Apple Farm rewards program, Etherlink is launching a special builder’s program to simplify the process for developers to build and deploy dApps on the chain. The waitlist for this program is open now, and the goal is to make the platform more accessible to developers looking to explore and build in the growing DeFi space.
Cédric Roche, Head of Business Development at Nomadic Labs, the Tezos R&D Hub in Paris, noted that:
“We’re excited to unveil these new initiatives, especially the Apple Farm program, which marks a milestone for Etherlink; this is just the beginning. With partnerships like Superlend and the launch of platforms such as uranium.io, we’re setting up a solid foundation for sustained growth in the network.”
Merkl, the incentive platform behind the Apple Farm program, is known for its successful DeFi liquidity programs and has distributed over $80 million across more than 40 blockchains. Merkl will handle reward calculations, allocations, and the program’s user interface.
Pablo Veyrat, co-founder of Merkl, pointed out that collaborating with Etherlink on the Apple Farm program is an exciting opportunity. He highlighted that Merkl is bringing its complete range of capabilities to ensure the program runs smoothly, including efficient reward distribution and a user-friendly token claim process.
Etherlink’s recent expansion includes the successful Bifröst network upgrade and the launch of the “.etherlink” domain powered by Freename. The community has also seen connections with major DeFi platforms, including Spiko and Midas. However, Etherlink has already played a role in the decentralized tokenized uranium market with uranium.io, and its platform has supported multiple sold-out NFT collections.
