7.15pm That is as enthralling a day of Test cricket as you would see. India started off on a similar vein as last night. Pant recorded his seventh Test ton, but India lost their last seven wickets for just 41 runs to cede England some ground. Jasprit Bumrah then sent back Zak Crawley with a pearler, but Ollie Pope and Ben Duckett added 122 runs for the second wicket. While Duckett fell for 62, Pope went on to score his ninth Test ton. He had Joe Root with him for a while before Bumrah struck for a third time. There was drama in the last over when Bumrah should have had Brook as well, but he overstepped. It’s been a case of Bumrah or bust so far on day two for India. England are still 262 behind with seven wickets in the bag. How close can they get to India’s total tomorrow? Join us nice and early on day three to find out. Till then, on behalf of Raghav, Thilak and Alan, this is me this is me Ashish Pant signing off.
Akhil: “Hopefully that chance doesn’t come back to haunt us. Bumrah and no balls don’t mix!”
Nishant Mannar: “Story of margins. Just an inch could have made India’s day. Neverthless what a bowler Bumrah!!!”
Bumrah to Brook, no run, What an absolute ripper! What a bowler! Oof! Banged in short aiming for his head, he just about gets away from it. That is stumps on a riveting day of Test cricket.
