Dolly Parton isn’t going anywhere, she wanted her concerned fans to know on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Parton’s sister Freida sent many people into a panic when she said she had been praying for her sister and asking the public to pray for Dolly as well. Eventually, Freida walked back her original statement, clarifying that she didn’t mean to frighten anyone.
“I want to clear something up. I didn’t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly,” she wrote. “She’s been a little under the weather, and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer. It was nothing more than a little sister asking for prayers for her big sister. Thank you all for lifting her up. Your love truly makes a difference.”
On Wednesday afternoon, Parton tweeted video of herself in front of a green screen, where she said she was filming commercials for the Grand Ole Opry. Along with the tweet, she added a brief message to her fanbase.
“I ain’t dead yet,” Parton wrote.

Parton still ‘working hard’
Parton, 79, had recently announced she was canceling some of her upcoming Las Vegas concerts due to “health issues.” Her manager Olly Rowland told the Las Vegas Review Journal the 11-time Grammy winner is dealing with kidney stones.
In the video today, Parton said she appreciated the outpouring of prayers and love she received, but wanted to address the rumors that she was sicker than she actually is.
“Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here,” Parton said. “Anyway, I wanted to put everybody’s mind at ease.”
Parton added that she wants people to know that “I’m not dying” and “I ain’t done working.”
Parton suffered a tremendous loss earlier this year
Back in March, Parton’s longtime husband Carl Dean died at the age of 82. The two were married for nearly 60 years and kept much of their relationship private.
“Of course I will always love him, and I’ll miss him, but I wanted you to know that I will always love you,” Parton told the crowd at her first public appearance on March 14.
