A sniper reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound early Wednesday morning after he shot three detainees at a Dallas ICE facility. “We’re going to be working this investigation shoulder to shoulder with our fellow partners,” said Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux. LiveNOW’s Austin Westfall is learning more about today’s shooting in Dallas with multimedia reporter Sarah Alegre.
DHS released a statement on what they are calling a “targeted attack” on the Dallas ICE Facility. The statement said, “This morning, a sniper opened fire from a nearby rooftop on a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Dallas field office. The shooter fired indiscriminately at the ICE building, including at a van in the sallyport where the victims were shot. Three detainees were shot. One detainee is deceased, and the other two are in critical condition. The gunman was found dead with a self-inflicted gun wound.”
Police sources identified the suspect as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn. He was allegedly armed with a rifle on a nearby roof and shot himself as agents approached him, sources said.
