US consumer sentiment in May fell to 50.8, the second-lowest level on record, with nearly three-fourths of respondents mentioning tariffs. That is according to the preliminary University of Michigan sentiment index. Joanne Hsu, director of the survey, says consumers are worried that tariff policy will bring inflation back and weaken the labor market. She speaks on “Bloomberg Open Interest.”
