Rwanda suspended development cooperation with Belgium for trying to “sabotage” its access to financing amid disagreements over its role in the conflict in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Rwanda has come under widespread international condemnation for backing the M23 militia in eastern Congo, but the country denies supporting the rebels. Meanwhile, Uganda deployed more forces to Bunia, in eastern Congo, highlighting the growing risk of a widening conflict in the region. Bloomberg’s Ondiro Oganga reports from Kigali.
