An explosion at U.S. Steel’s Clairton Coke Works near Pittsburgh injured dozens and trapped some under rubble, officials said. Emergency crews are on site working to rescue those trapped. Five people have been transported for treatment, and no fatalities have been confirmed, according to Allegheny County officials.

Governor Shapiro posted on X: “My Administration is in touch with local officials in Clairton, PA as they respond to an explosion at US Steel Clairton Coke Works plant this morning.
@PEMAHQ and @PAStatePolice are in touch with first responders and have offered all assistance.
