“Maybe a place like this would bring us all back together…” Entertainment Film Distributor has revealed the first teaser trailer for the movie The Magic Faraway Tree, a new adaptation of the bestselling book series of the same name by Enid Blyton. Joe, Beth and Frannie find the Enchanted Wood on the doorstep of their new home, and when they discover the “Faraway Tree” it is the start of a wonderful series of magical adventures. This fantasy adventure story is about a family discovering a new world. It’s set for UK release in cinemas there next March, but has no US release date set yet. A modern family is forced to relocated to the British countryside where the children discover a magical tree with eccentric residents. They’re transported to fantastical lands, rekindling their family bond through adventures. The impressive cast features Andrew Garfield & Claire Foy as the two parents, with Nonso Anozie, Nicola Coughlan, Jessica Gunning, Jennifer Saunders, and Rebecca Ferguson. This looks whimsical and amusing though the CGI looks pretty rough. It seems much more like a Saturday night TV special than a movie that might play in theaters.
Here’s the first teaser trailer (+ poster) for Ben Gregor’s film The Magic Faraway Tree, from YouTube:

The screenplay is written by Simon Farnaby, based on the beloved book series the same name written by Enid Blyton. Produced by Nicolas Brown, Pippa Harris, Jane Hooks, Danny Perkins. Ent.
