Hamas resumed negotiations this week with the U.S. bridging a proposal. Israeli PM Netanyahu said he had a very “constructive” meeting with Blinken. Hamas accused Netanyahu of “thwarting the mediators’ efforts, according to Reuters.
Israeli war coverage: Hamas claimed responsibility for a bomb blast near a synagogue in Tel Aviv. A man carrying the bomb was killed at the scene in Israel’s commercial capital, according to officials.
Israeli government spokesman David Mencer described the man carrying a backpack with explosives stating, “before he managed to reach a more heavily populated area.”
