As concerns rise regarding a continued military escalation between Iran and Israel, the United States is actively helping with the evacuation of U.S. citizens from Israel. U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee announced on Wednesday that flights are being arranged for those wanting to leave. A government plane already evacuated several diplomats and their family members who requested to depart this week. LiveNOW’s Austin Westfall is speaking with James Judge, a spokesman for Project Dynamo.
Project Dynamo is a U.S.-based organization that conducts high-risk rescue missions where traditional options are unavailable. So far, Project Dynamo has successfully evacuated 47 Americans by bus to Jordan and others by boat to Cyprus. The organization plans to continue rescue efforts as long as necessary, though it is uncertain when the need for evacuations will slow down.
Since its creation in 2021, Project DYNAMO has rescued more than 7,000 Americans from conflict zones and disaster areas around the world. Its teams are made up of former Special Forces and intelligence officers, including volunteers from all across the nation. They’re currently working in the Middle East to help evacuate Americans as missile strikes continue between Iran and Israel.
